Add the Bubbl widget to your Android Home Screen

This takes about a minute. Once the widget is on your Home Screen, every note a friend sends you shows up there by itself.

Before you start

• A phone on Android 8 or later. Most launchers, including Pixel and Samsung One UI, work the same way.
• Bubbl installed from Google Play, with your account signed in.
• At least one friend connected in Bubbl. Notes come from people, so connect with someone first.

Add the widget, step by step

1. Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen. A menu appears. Don't tap an app icon.
2. Tap Widgets. The widget list opens.
3. Find Bubbl in the list. You can search on most phones.
4. Touch and hold the Bubbl widget, then drag it onto your Home Screen and let go.
5. Resize it if you want. Touch and hold the widget, let go, then drag the edges. Bigger widgets show more of each note.
6. Tap outside to finish. That's the whole setup.

On Samsung phones the wording is nearly identical: long-press the wallpaper, tap Widgets, find Bubbl, and drop it on the screen.

If notes aren't showing in the widget

It's empty or waiting

The widget fills when a friend sends you a note. If it's empty, connect with a friend and ask for one, or send them one and watch theirs land.

Bubbl isn't in the widget list

Open Bubbl once and sign in first, since some launchers hide widgets from apps you haven't opened. If it still doesn't show up, restart the phone and check again.

Notes stopped updating

Check that Bubbl isn't restricted in battery settings, since Android can sleep apps that aren't used often. Also make sure the app is on its latest version from Google Play. Removing the widget and adding it back clears most stuck states too.
